My commitment to web accessibility
Last updated: 21 February 2026
1. My commitment
As the author of Sepetowski.uk, I am committed to ensuring that the website is as accessible as possible to all users, regardless of their abilities, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnification software and alternative input devices when using the internet.
2. My ongoing efforts towards accessibility
I follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 as a guiding principle for determining accessibility. These are internationally agreed standards that cover a wide range of recommendations and best practices for creating usable content.
When adding new pages and features, I check all designs, code, and content practices for compliance with these standards.
Website accessibility is an ongoing process. I continuously test content and features for compliance with WCAG 2.1 at the AA level and fix any issues to ensure that standards are met or exceeded.
I test the website using standard industry tools such as the Accessibility Checker plugin for WordPress, colour contrast analysers, keyboard-only navigation techniques, and Flesch–Kincaid readability tests.
3. Accessibility features on my website
- high contrast between text and background colours,
- responsive headings and legible fonts,
- alternative image descriptions (alt text) for all graphics,
- full keyboard navigation,
- friendly heading structure (H1–H3),
- optimisation for screen readers.
4. What I am currently working on
- further optimisation of contrast for interactive elements (buttons, links),
- accessibility testing in dark and light theme modes,
- automatic compliance checking of new entries and content blocks.
This is part of my broader efforts to ensure a pleasant and satisfying experience for everyone on Sepetowski.uk. Please note that I make every effort to ensure that information is available to all users, but I cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party websites to which I may link.
