How this extraordinary visit came about
The idea of inviting alpacas to Stafford & District Stroke Club came from one
of our volunteers, whose commitment and dedication to the club played a key role here.
It was she who came up with the initiative to bring something special and warm to our meeting.
The organisational details were then worked out together with Geoff, the chairman,
who made sure that everything ran smoothly and with the participants in mind.
When Teddy and Carlos appeared at the door, it was immediately clear that we were in for a day unlike any other.
Why was this visit so important?
The presence of Teddy and Carlos brought something more than just a momentary
attraction to our meeting. For many participants, it was an opportunity to experience closeness, peace
and contact that is difficult to describe in words. Animals have a
natural and effortless way of opening hearts, and their gentleness made this day a special experience for many
of us.
Small moments that stay with you for a long time
During the visit, there were many small moments that are difficult to capture in words,
but which are precisely why they remain most vividly in our memories. The smiles
on the participants' faces, the gentle touches of soft fur, the calm gazes
of Teddy and Carlos — all this created an atmosphere of warmth and mutual kindness.
These were simple but extremely important moments that will remain in our hearts for a long time.
